Mothership Group owns and operates some of East London’s most loved hangouts: Queen of HoxtonThe Book Club and Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen as well as Patterns on the seafront in Brighton. We are an events operator and venue group aimed at creative twenty-somethings and underpinned by a head-turning programme of music and cultural events.

We organize over 1000 events a year spanning music, tech, film, fashion, art and comedy both in-house and with promotors ranging from the established to grass-roots leftfield newbies. Every  month we reach over a million people over social media and PR.

We’re always current, often thought-provoking, frequently controversial and when we’re done crafting, philosophizing, and debating, we like to let our hair down and party. If you like the sound of us, come and join in.

Commercial Director.Jon Ross

Oxford University grad Jon left a career in management consultancy behind to follow his dream of running restaurants and bars. He’s been in the licensed trade since 1999 and bought his first venture, Dust, in Clerkenwell in 2001. Since then has built up Mothership Group with Andy and Heather. Mad about food and drinks, he’s also got a strong track record of delivering great returns and shareholder value. He brings business sense and commercial discipline to the team.

Operations Director.Andy Maddocks

Andy brings twenty years’ experience of running bars and restaurants and heads up the operations side of the business. He managed flagship sites for Pitcher and Piano and Slug and Lettuce before becoming an area manager for SFI, running twelve sites with a combined turnover of over £14m. Obsessive about customer service, he instils a great sense of fun in the company and inspires amazing loyalty from his team. A great all-rounder and a very safe pair of hands.

HR Director .Aoife Halliday

More fun than any one person should reasonably be allowed to be, Aoife is the first person new recruits meet when they join the company. She interviews everyone along with the site managers and runs the staff induction programme, ensuring that everyone who joins is a ray of sunshine and knows all about food, drinks and fun times. She’s been in event hospitality for eleven years and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of wines, spirits and cocktails.

 

Finance Director.David Jenkinson

CA qualified and with a strong track record in the tourism and hospitality industries, David runs the finance team at Mothership as a very tight ship. He has a thorough knowledge of best practice and processes and is also a great big-picture thinker. He manages relationships with key financial stakeholders and inspires confidence through his candid approach.

Creative Team Lead.Dan Spinney

With a background in event programming across some of the country’s coolest venues, Dan heads up the music and culture events teams and provides content to the PR and social media teams. He has a strong knowledge of the target market and is the main driving force for creative content in our venues.

Chairman.Mark Silverman

Mark has over twenty year’s experience as a business advisor and sits as a non-exec for multiple companies in areas from technology, communications and hospitality. As well as acting as a chair for Mothership, he is a non-exec for Trullo Restaurants, Village Underground, First Point and City Athletic.
